Mohanlal’s latest flick Thudarum, which hit theatres on April 25, is off to a flying start! Packed with emotions, suspense, and full-on drama, the film has managed to win over fans and critics alike. It’s safe to say the superstar is back in full form, making up for the mixed reactions to his previous release L2: Empuraan.
Thudarum didn’t just show up—it stormed the box office! With a whopping Rs 28 crore collected in just its opening weekend in India (Rs 20 crore from Kerala alone!), the film is clearly striking a chord.
And that’s not all—worldwide collections have zoomed to Rs 69.5 crore in just four days, with Rs 41.5 crore coming from overseas! That makes it the second biggest Mollywood opener after—well, L2: Empuraan, of course, which still holds the record at Rs 174 crore.
If it keeps up the pace, Thudarum could enter the Rs 100 crore club before the week wraps up—making it the second Malayalam film this year to do so.
